Shopify Fulfillment Services for D2C Brands
Learn how ShipGenie handles Shopify fulfillment with published per-order rates, client-owned account access, capacity-aware onboarding, storage, pick, pack, and shipping.
Your Shopify store captures the order. Fulfillment is everything required to get that order out of your hands and on its way to the customer.
That sounds simple until products, packaging rules, storage, carrier access, and monthly costs all have to work together. A useful Shopify fulfillment partner should make those operational details easier to understand before inventory moves, not hide them behind a sales call or imply that installing software solves the whole problem.
ShipGenie approaches Shopify fulfillment from Texas with published standard pricing, direct founder involvement, and an operating scope that stays honest about product fit and capacity.
Your Shopify Store Is One Part of Fulfillment
Shopify records what the customer bought, where it needs to go, and whether the order has been fulfilled. Shopify’s own orders and fulfillment documentation separates that commerce workflow from the physical work a fulfillment operation performs.
For a D2C brand, the warehouse side still has to receive inventory, store it in a workable location, follow the right pick-and-pack instructions, purchase the label through the appropriate carrier account, and update the order after shipment. Packaging and special-project requirements also need to be defined before they reach the packing station.
This is why “works with Shopify” is only the beginning of the conversation. The more useful questions are: How does the warehouse access the store? What work is included? Which rates are standard? What gets scoped separately? And does the inventory profile fit the operation that will actually handle it?
Start With Published Shopify Fulfillment Pricing
ShipGenie publishes its standard fulfillment rate card so a Shopify seller can inspect the numbers before requesting a quote. The current per-order pick-and-pack rate is $2.00 for the 0–499 monthly-order tier and steps down across the published volume tiers to $1.40 at 5,000 or more orders per month.
Those tiers explain the rate-card math; they are not a promise that every account or volume can be accepted immediately. Product characteristics, SKU complexity, storage footprint, handling requirements, and current warehouse capacity still determine fit.
The published card also identifies the other standard line items that can shape a fulfillment bill. Current examples include a $200 one-time inventory and account setup fee, bin storage at $2.25 per bin per month, pallet storage at $18 per pallet per month, receiving charges, and a $0.50 per-order peak-season surcharge from October 1 through December 31. Conditional or unusual work is scoped before ShipGenie commits to it.
You can use the fulfillment cost calculator to model orders and bin storage with the same rate data shown on the pricing page. It is an estimate, not a capacity approval or a substitute for confirming the details of a real account.
What ShipGenie Does for Shopify Orders
📦 Receiving and Storage
Inventory is received into ShipGenie’s Fort Worth warehouse and stored in bins or on pallets as appropriate for the account. Storage supports an active fulfillment relationship; ShipGenie is not positioned as a storage-only service.
✋ Pick, Pack, and Ship
Eligible ready orders received before the current 11am CT cutoff can qualify for same-day shipping. The exact workflow depends on inventory being available and the order being ready to process, not simply on the order appearing in Shopify.
🎁 Packaging and Supporting Work
Kitting, subscription-box assembly, PR kits, returns, and special projects can support an active D2C fulfillment relationship. Nonstandard packaging, materials, or handling may need separate scoping and pricing before work begins.
🚚 Client-Owned Carrier Rates
Clients use their own carrier accounts and rates. ShipGenie purchases labels through those client-owned accounts and does not intentionally add a ShipGenie markup to the label cost.
See the complete current boundaries on the D2C fulfillment services page before treating any supporting capability as automatically included.
How Shopify Account Access Works
ShipGenie works directly inside your Shopify account, the same one you check every morning. That means a real person looking at your actual orders in real time, not a synced number on someone else’s dashboard that’s already a few hours stale.
That distinction matters because the Shopify store remains the client’s system and the client controls the account relationship. Before launch, ShipGenie and the brand still need to align on products, order handling, carrier access, packaging instructions, inventory movement, and exception rules.
A software connection cannot decide whether a fragile product needs extra handling, whether a large inbound shipment fits available capacity, or how a custom insert should be packed. Those decisions belong in the operating plan for the account.
Product Fit and Capacity Still Matter
There is no monthly D2C order minimum, but that does not mean every Shopify store is automatically a fit. ShipGenie evaluates the product, SKU complexity, pallet footprint, storage economics, handling needs, and current capacity before accepting the work.
Compact, lightweight, shelf-stable products with manageable handling needs are the clearest fit for the current operation. Heavy, bulky, slow-moving inventory or an account that functions mainly as storage may not be. Hazardous chemicals, refrigerated products, and prepared or perishable food requiring cold-chain capability are outside the current operating scope.
Being explicit about those boundaries protects both sides. The brand gets a fulfillment plan based on the warehouse that exists today, and ShipGenie avoids making a promise that would require unplanned labor, equipment, space, or workflows.
Quick Questions Shopify Brands Usually Ask
- Do you have a monthly Shopify order minimum? No. Product fit, capacity, and storage economics still apply.
- Is this a native Shopify integration? Better than that: it’s your actual Shopify account, worked directly, by a person who knows it, not a synced copy that can fall behind.
- Can I see the pricing before I contact you? Yes. The standard rate card and calculator are public; exceptional work is scoped before commitment.
- Whose carrier account is used? The client’s. Labels use the client-owned carrier account and rates without an intentional ShipGenie label markup.
- Can ShipGenie handle branded packaging or kitting? Those are supporting capabilities within the right fulfillment relationship. The materials, labor, workflow, and price are confirmed for the specific account.
